Abstract:Thisarticleuseshourlycloudlayercloud height meter detectiondataandmanualobservationdatafromNanning Airportfrom1986to2O22andusescovariance,waveletanalysisandothermethodstoanalyzethecharacteristicsoflowclouds atNaningAirport.Thediferencesbetweencloudheightmeterandmanualobservationdatafrom2O18to2O22arecompared andanalyzed.Theresultsshowthat:Thefrequencyoflowcloudspresentsdailyandseasonalvariaionswithhighinthe morming,lowintheafternonandlowatnighthighinwinterandspringseasons,andlowinsummerandautumnseasons;The averagecloudheightoflowcloudshasperiodicscalesofaround2a,4a,and8a,with2abeingthefirstmainperiod;The lowerthecloudheight,thesmalerthediferencebetweenthecloudheightmeterdetectionvalueandthemanuallyobserved data.Lowcloudswithcloudheight meterdetectionvalueslessthan3OOmeters haveacertaindegreeofavailability;TheFEW leveldetectedbythecloudaltimeterisbasicallyconsistentwiththecloudcoverleveldataobservedmanuallOthercloudcover leveldatacanonlybeusedasareferenceformanualobservation.Aftermanualcorection,thecloudcoverleveldatadetected by the cloud altimeter is more consistent with the cloud cover level data observed manually.
