Abstract:Thedesignofskid-typelandinggeartypicallreliesondynamicsimulationmodelstocalculatelandingloads, whichis time-consumingandcomputationallexpensive.Thispaperproposesanalternativemethodbasedonstaticfiniteelement analysiscombinedwithanalyticalsolutionsandgraphicalmethodsforrapidloadcalculation,withouttheneedfordynamic simulationmodels.Twomodels,i.e.linearandnonlinear,aredeveloped:thelinearmodelprovidesanalyticalsolutionsandis applicabletoconditionswherethematerialremainswithintheelasticrange;thenonlinearmodelcalculatesloadsthrough graphicalmethodsandissuitableforcasesinvolving materialyielding.Alandingdynamicmodelofaspecifichelicopteris establishedtovalidatetheproposedmethod.Theresultsshowthatthelinear modelhasaloadcalculationerrorof 8.8 % ,while the nonlinear model has an error of 12.7% .Both are considered acceptable for the accuracy requirements during the conceptual design phase.
