Role Transition and Evolution of Yiwu Cross-Border E-Commerce Under Institutional Change

Abstract:Against the backdrop of global trade restructuringandthe digital technology revolution,crossbordere-commercehasemergedasapivotal forcereshapinginternational economicand traderules.Taking Yiwu as the research subject，this study constructs alongitudinal single-case analysis framework based on institutional change theorytodissect the threedevelopmental stages ofits cross-border e-commerce:the policy pilot and mandatory institutional change phase(2012-20l5)，which broke through systemic barriers; theinstitutionaldiffu induced changephase（2016-2019） wnich refined the policy system;and the institutional solidification and regional hub formation phase(2020-present),which achieved ecosystemupgrading.Theresearch reveals that institutional innovation,through thedynamicadaptationof policy tools andthecoordinated development oftheregional economy，haspropelled Yiwu’scross-border e-commerceto transition fromailocalmarket toaregional trade hub.
