An Analysis of Pathways to Enhancing Residents’ Sense of Belonging in Japan' s Underpopulated Areas

-A Case Study of Kochi Prefecture Chen Lujia （ShanxiUniversity，Taiyuan O30006）

Abstract：Japan’sunderpopulatedareas facechallenges suchas declining communityfunctionsand a weakened senseofbelonging duetolowbirthrates，populationging，andoutwardmigration，whichconstrainregionalsustainabledevelopment.UsingKochPrefecture asacasestudythisstudyaalyzsthefctorsafectingresidents’senseofelonging，includingasingleconomicstructure，ackard of policiesandsystems，andsocioculturaldiscotiuity.Itpropossehancementpathways：stablishingasustainablelocaloomice cosystemhroughthedevelopmentofsartfisheriesndtelecommutigindustries；iovatingculturaltransmsionmechanismsbyleveragingdigitalteholgistvialiadiioalsialsadaf；ndecostructigtocialapialaulationodelucg “communitylivingstewards”andmultigeneratioalshedspaces.Teresearchindicatesthatsyegisticallstrengthenngoiciality，cultural identity，and social bonds is key to enhancing the sense of belonging.
