On Parmenides’Being in the Sense of Copula from Schelling's Theory of the Copula

Abstract:Parmendes“Being"isnotonlyagrammaticalcopulabutalsocariesimportantlogicalandontoogicalsignificanceiin hisphilosopicalsystem.However，how“Being”asacopulaconetsthesubjectandtepredicate，andhow“propositionalpredicationis possibleremainisues.Scheling’sthyofthecopulaoersanewperspetiveforaddressingtesequesions:intepropositio“Ais B"，the copula,as the mediator and the genuine subject X ，enables the proposition“Ais B”to hold by relating to A and B respectively. ThroughScheling’sthoryofthecopula，anisomorpismbetweenthisstructureandthe“Being”inParmenides’pilosophyisrealed. Parmenides’argument for thecharacteristics of Beingas identical Truth - unborn and imperishable,unique,complete,immovable,and perfect—requiresasitsargumentativefoundationthecosureofTruthitselfandtheeclusionofthedualityofOpinion.JustasinSelling' s theory，a proposition requires Being as ΔX to relate to A and B respectively in order to genuinely become a proposition.
