Abstract:Theconstructionof Chinesediaspora images in Hollywoodactionfilms hasalwaysbeenconstrainedbythe Orientalistgaze andthesymbolicmanipulationofcosumesmUnderteframeworkof“Orientalis”,hseimagesareincorporatedintoWsteulur dominatednaatielogicsschsrocaratioothringcostructioandubordiateortrayal,wereintheconstructioofCine maleheroesrequireslegitimizationthrough Westenaratives,theagencyofCinesecharactersustdependonWestern-centricevents, andsomeChinesefemalecharactersareeducedtofoilsforWestemales.Inthcontextofconsumerism,Hollwooddecostructsandre constructs Chinesediasporaimagesintoconsumablesigns,troughthecommercilizationofde-istoricizedandd-culturalizedKungFu symbols,techologicalldomnatedsbolicprductio,andthsstematicstripingofotioalsmbols,threbysubordiatingtha tivevalueof teseiagstotelgicofapitalreproductioByaalyingthdepseatedmechanismsofimagedistortioninossultural communication,thisartcleproposesabreakthroughpath:theWestneedstoabandonculturalprejudices,andChinashouldrecostructits autonomousdiscursiepower,providingateoreticalefereceforpromotigequalmulticulturalexcangebetenEastandWestotexts of de-commodification and decolonization.
