The Impact of Behavioral Stages Nursing Combined with Peer Education on Self-care Ability of Patients with Diabetes Mellitus Complicated with Uremia Undergoing Hemodialysis

ZHOU Qiuling,LI Xiaoting,LIU Pingping Blood Purification Center,Anxi County Hospital,Quanzhou 3624Oo,Fujian,China [Abstract]Objective To explore the efect of behavioral stages nursing combined with peer education on the selfcareabilityof patientswith diabetesmelitus complicated withuremia undergoing hemodialysis.Methods Atotalof 100 patients with diabetes melitus complicated with uremia undergoing hemodialysis in Anxi County Hospital from January 2O24 to March 2O25 were selectedand divided into two groups of 5Ocases each based on diferent nursing methods.The control group received conventional nursing,while the study group was given behavioral stages nursing combined with peer education.The blood glucoselevels,self-careability,and qualityof lifeof thetwo groups were compared.Results Compared with the control group after nursing,the fasting blood glucose and 2-hour postprandial bloodglucoselevels inthestudygroup werelower,andtheself-careabilityandqualityoflifescoreswerehigher,and thedifferences were statistically significant (all P<0.05 ).Conclusion Behavioral stages nursing combined with peer education can enhancetheself-care abilityof patients with diabetes melitus complicated with uremia undergoing hemodialysis,improve blood glucose levels,and improve the quality of life.
