The Effect of Health Care during Pregnancy Guided by Health EmpowermentTheory on Weight Gain and Blood GlucoseLevel in Patientswith Gestational DiabetesMellitus

Department of Nursing, Liupanshui Shougang Shuigang Hospital,Liupanshui 553ooo, Guizhou, China [Abstract] Objective To explore the impact of pregnancy health care nursing guided by health empowerment theory on weight gainand blood glucose levels in gestational diabetes melitus patients.Methods A total of9O patients with gestational diabetes melitus who weretreated in Liupanshui Shougang Shuigang Hospital from January 2O22 to June 2025 were non-randomly selected as the research objects.They were divided into two groups according todifferent nursing methods,with 45 cases ineach group.The control group was given routine nursing,while the observation group was given pregnancy health care guided by health empowerment theory.The weight gain,blood glucose levels [glycated hemoglobinAlc (HbAlc),fasting plasma glucose (FPG),2-hour postprandial plasma glucose (2 hPG)]and adverse pregnancy outcomes were compared between the two groupsafter continuous observation until delivery. Results The weight gain of the observation group was lower than thatof the control group,the levels of FPG,2 hPG and HbAlc after intervention were lower than those of thecontrol group,and the incidence of adverse pregnancyoutcomes was lower than that of the control group,the diferences were statistically significant (all P
