The Improvement Effect of Huopu Xialing Decoction Combined with Insulin on Glucose and Lipid Metabolism in Patients with Obese Type 2 DiabetesMellitus Complicated with Damp-heat Obstruction Syndrome

ZHAO Yongfeng，LI Ying，CHENPengju Zhengzhou Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine，Zhengzhou 45Oooo，Henan，China [Abstract] Objective To explore the improvement effect of Huopu Xialing Decoction combined with insulin therapy onglucose and lipid metabolism indexes in patients with obese type2diabetesmelitus complicated with damp-heat obstruction syndrome.Methods A total of 68 patients with obese type 2 diabetes melitus complicated with dampheat obstruction syndromewho were treated in Zhengzhou Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from January 2023to July2O25 wereconvenientlyselectedastheresearchobjects.Theywere divided into groups bydiferent treatment methods，with34cases ineach group.Thecontrolgroupwastreated with insulinglargine alone，and theobservation group was treated with Huopu Xialing Decoction combined with insulin glargine.The blood glucose，blood lipid levels and the incidence of adverse reactions were compared between the two groups before and after treatment. Results After treatment，compared withthecontrol group，thefasting plasma glucose，2-hour postprandial plasma glucose and glycated hemoglobinAlcinthe observation group werelower，and the diferences were statistically significant （all P <0.05）.After treatment，compared with the control group，the total cholesterol，triglycerideand low density lipoproteincholesterol intheobservationgroup werelowerthanthose inthecontrol group，andthehighdensitylipoprotein cholesterol was higher， the differences were statistically significant（all P <0.05）. The incidence of adverse reactionsin theobservation group was slightlylower than thatin thecontrol group，butthediference was not statistically significant P>0.05 ）.Conclusion Huopu Xialing Decoction combined with insulin therapy more effectively improves glucoseand lipid metabolism disorders inobese patients with type2diabetes melituscomplicated bydamp-heatobstruction syndrome， while demonstrating comparable safety to insulin monotherapy.
