Application of 5E Rehabilitation Nursing under the Guidance of Empowerment Theory in Patients with Rheumatoid Arthritis Complicated with Type2DiabetesMellitus

[Abstract]Objective To explorethe effctof 5Erehabilitationnursing undertheguidance of empowermenttheory in rheumatoid arthritis （RA）with type 2 diabetes mellitus （T2DM）.Methods A total of 98 patients with RA and T2DM admitedto WuxiPeople's HospitalfromFebruary2023 toFebruary2025were convenientlyselectedanddivided into intervention group（ n =52）and control group（ n =46）according to different intervention methods.The control group was given routine nursing，and the intervention group was given 5E rehabilitation nursing under the guidance of authorizationtheory.Theblod glucose level，pain degree，morning stiffess timeanddiabetesself-managementability were compared between the two groups.Results After intervention，the levelsof fasting plasma glucose，2-hour postprandial plasma glucoseand glycated hemoglobin A1cin the two groups decreased，andthe intervention groupwas lower than the control group，the differences were statistically significant （all P <0.05）.After intervention，the Visual Analogue Scale（VAS）scoresof the two groupsdecreased，andthe morning stiffnesstime was shortened，the VASscoreof theintervention group was lowerthan thatof thecontrol group，and the morning stiffess time was shorter，and the differenceswere statistically significant （all P<0.05 ）.After intervention，the scoresof T2DM Self-care Scalein the two groupsincreased，andthe intervention groupwas higher than thecontrol group，the diferenceswere statisticallysignificant （all P<0.05 ）.Conclusion The application of 5E rehabilitation nursing guided by empowerment theory in RA patients with T2DMcan lowerblood glucose levels，improve self-management ability，reduce pain levels and morning stiffness time.
