[Abstract] Objective To explore the application efectof comprehensive nursing based ongoal theory in patients with diabetes mellituscomplicated withcritical illness.MethodsFromMay2023 to August 2O24，92patients with diabetesmelitus complicated with critical illness admited to the Department of Intensive Care Medicine of Zhucheng People's Hospital were conveniently selected as the research objects.They were divided into two groups according to different nursing methods，46 cases in each group.The control group was treated with routine nursing，and the observation group was combined with comprehensive nursing guidedbytarget theory.Both groups completed 2 weeks of nursing.Theblood glucoselevel，ModifiedEarlyWarningScore （MEWS），AcutePhysiologyandChronic HealthEvaluation （APACHE II），rescue time and complication rate were compared between the two groups.Results The fasting blood glucose and glycated hemoglobin Alcin theobservation group were lower than those in thecontrol group，and the differences were statistically significant （all P<0.05 ）. The MEWS and APACHE II scores of the two groups were decreased after intervention，the MEWS，APACHE I score，EICU stayand oxygen therapy time of theobservation group were lower than those of the control group，and the diffrences were statistically significant （all P <0.05）. The incidence ofcomplications in theobservation group was lower than thatin thecontrolgroup，and the diffrence was statistically significant P<0.05 ）. Conclusion Comprehensive nursing guided by goal theory has good effect in patients with diabetesmelitus complicated with critical diseases.Itcanreduce the blood glucose level，MEWSandAPACHE I scores，shorten the time required for rescue，and help reduce the incidence of complications.
