Abstract： Starting from the definitionand core characteristicsof the Large Language Model（LLM），this paper expounds theapplicationofLLM in theconstructionof smartlibraries and its enabling role inlibrary knowledge services.Itanalyzes thatLLMcanenhance the knowledge servicecapabilitiesof libraries through deepsemanticunderstanding，transformation of service paradigms，and cross-modal data processing.The innovative application scenariosof LLM in smart libraries are discussed，including aspectssuch as intellgent retrieval，questionanswering， knowledge procesing，andmanagement.It points out thechallenges faced bythe application ofLLM in smart libraries，ncluding technical adaptabilityand transformation of service models，and proposes coping strategies such as cultivating the continuous learning ability of the model and reconstructing the capabilities of librarians.
