Construction and evaluation of a high-density industrial aquaculture system for Artemia

Abstract:To address the challenges of traditional Artemia cultivation-such as low stocking density, extensive management practices,and ineficient resource utilization—this study constructed and operated a high-density industrial recirculating aquaculture system for Artemia. The system design encompassed key processes,including biofilm formation on biofilter,hatching management,graded density regulation,continuous supply of compound diets,and online regulation of water quality parameters. The production performance and resource utilization eficiency under different culture loads were evaluated through density gradient experiments. The results showed that the medium-density culture group achieved an optimal balance among survival rate,unit yield,and feed conversion efficiency, with stable system operation and high nutritional value of the harvested product. These findings provide a replicable technical pathway and a basis for economic feasibility for the large-scale production of high-density organic feed organisms.
