Integrated prevention and control of Nocardiosis in Micropterus salmoides *

Abstract:In recent years,the Micropterus salmoides bass farming industry has developed rapidly, making it the "fifth major freshwater fish species" in China. However,this growth has been accompanied by severe disease issues,among which Nocardiosis has become a significant challenge restricting the development of the bassindustry. This paper takes Nocardia seriolae as an example to investigate its pathogenic mechanisms and further analyze the predisposing factors for the disease. Based on these findings,a comprehensive prevention and control system for Nocardiosis in Micropterus salmoides bass is established, with enhanced environmental regulation and input management to reduce the incidence of the disease at its source. For afected populations,a precise treatment strategy is implemented,characterized by "oral medication as the primary approach,supplemented by external disinfection," combined with strict isolation,health quarantine,and the harmless disposal of dead or diseased fish to curb disease transmission. In light of the hot and humid climatic conditions in southern regions such as Guangdong, disease prevention and control strategies are proposed, including optimizing aquaculture models, selecting disease-resistant breeds,and establishing disease surveillance systems. These measures aim to provide scientific guidance for practitioners,reduce economic losses,and pro mote the sustainable development of the aquaculture industry.
