Potential of Insulin Glargine Lixisenatide in Reducing Insulin Dependence inPatientswithDiabetesMellitus

Department of Endocrinology，Meizhou Gucheng Hospital，Meizhou 5144Oo，Guangdong， Chint [Abstract]Objective To explore the potentialof insulinglargine lixisenatide inreducing insulin dependencein patientswith diabetesmelltus.Methods Sixty patients with diabetes melltusadmitted to Meizhou Gucheng Hospital fromJanuary to August2O25wereconvenientlyselectedanddivided into twogroupsaccording todiferenttreatment methods，with 3Ocases in each group.The control group was treated with conventional insulin，and the studygroup was treated with insulin glargine lixisenatide.The blood glucose level，insulindosageand incidence ofadversedrug reactions were compared between the two groups.Results After treatment，there was no statistically significant diference in fasting blood glucose and 2-hour postprandial blood glucose levels between the two groups （all P >0.05）.After treatment，theinsulindosage inthe study groupwaslowerthanthatinthecontrol group，and thedifference was statistically significant （ P <0.05）.The incidence of adverse drug reactions in the study group was lower than that in the control group，the difference was statistically significant （ P <0.05）.Conclusion Compared with conventional insulin therapy，theuseof insulin glargine lixisenatide in patients with diabetes melitus has the same effect on lowering blood glucose， and can reduce the risk of insulin dependence and adverse drug reactions in patients.
