The Value of Semeglutide Combined with Dapagliflozin in the Treatment of Obese/Overweight Type2Diabetes Mellitus

Departmentof Endocrinology，Dafeng People's Hospital of Yancheng City，Yancheng2241Oo，Jiangsu，China [Abstract]Objective To explore theclinical applicationvalue of semeglutide combined withdapagliflozin inobese/ overweight patients with type2diabetesmelitus （T2DM），and to evaluateitssynergistic effectin blood glucose control，weight managementand metabolicindeximprovement.MethodsFrom June2022 toMay2O25，90obese/overweight T2DMpatients with poor effect after taking metformin in the Departmentof Endocrinology，Dafeng People's Hospital of Yancheng City were selectedanddivided into control groupand observation group according todifrent treatmentmethods，with45cases ineach group.Thecontrol group was treated withdapagliflozinorally，and theobservationgroup was treated with semeglutide injectionon the basisof dapagliflozin.The blood glucose index，metabolic index and weightrelated index were compared between thetwo groups.Results After treatment，the fasting plasma glucose，glycated hemoglobin A1c，homeostatic model aessmentofinsulinresistance，body massindexand waistcircumference of theobservation group were lower than those of thecontrolgroup，and the high densitylipoprotein cholesterol level was higher than thatof thecontrol group，and thediferences were statisticallysignificant （all P <0.05）. Conclusion Thecombination ofsemeglutideand dapagliflozin can improve the hypoglycemic effect，improve insulin sensitivity，promoteweightlos，andhaveaditionalbenefitsinregulatingbloodlipidmetabolismthrough the"gutkidneyaxis"synergistic mechanism.This regimenprovidesan eficient andsafe treatment strategy forobese/overweight T2DM patients， especially for those with poor efficacy of single drug treatment.
