Effect of Combined Treatment with Dapagliflozin and Glimepiride on Blood Glucose and Lipid Levels in Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus Patients with PoorMetformin Blood Glucose Control

DepartmentofPharmacyYuniaoCountyHospitalofraditionalCineseedicine，Zhangzhou3633Oo，Fujian，Cina [Abstract]ObjectiveTo explorethe specificeffects of thecombinedtreatmentofdapagliflozinand glimepireaonthe blood glucose and lipid levels of type2diabetes melitus patients with poor metformin blood glucosecontrol.Methods From January 2O23 to May 2025，6O patients with poor blood glucose control after metformin treatment were nonrandomly selected from Yunxiao County Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine.They were divided into two groups according to different treatment methods，3O cases each group.The control group was treated with metformin combinedwith glimepiride，andthe studygroup was treated with metformin，glimepirideanddapagliflozin.Theblood glucoselevel，blood lipid level andadversereactions werecompared betweenthe twogroups.ResultsAfter3monthsof continuous drug treatment，the levels of blood lipids and blood glucose indexes in each group were improved compared with those before treatment，and the levelsof the blood glucose （fasting and2-hour postprandial plasma glucose，glycatedmoglobinAlc）andbloodlipidindexes（totalcholesterol，triglyceride，ighdensitylipoproteincholeterol，lowdensitylipoproteincholesterol）inthestudygroupwerebeterthanthoseinthecontrolgroup，thedierences were statistically significant （all P<0.05 ）. There were no serious adverse reactions in the two groups during the treatment，and there was no significant difference between the two groups （ P >0.05）. Conclusion The treatment regimen of dapagliflozin combined with glimepiride can improve the blood glucose and blood lipid levelsof type 2 diabetic patients with poor blood glucose control of metformin，and will not significantly increase adverse reactions.
