Abstract: With the acceleration of urbanization, the urban road transportation network is becoming increasingly complete, and the operating load carried by roads continues to increase, leading to an increase in the hidden danger of ground collapse. In order to improve the intelligent detection ability of underground hidden dangers on roads, this paper combines three-dimensional ground-penetrating radar technology with the YOLOv8 target detection model to propose a set of intelligent detection methods for underground hidden dangers on urban roads. This research carried out road detection work exceeding 820 kilometers in Y City, J Province. The main detection steps include: three-dimensional ground-penetrating radar detection, AI algorithm identification, two-dimensional radar re-measurement and on-site investigation. Through the intelligent detection method for hidden dangers proposed in this paper, a total of 53 voids, 19 voids, and 5 loose bodies were detected, providing an important technical reference for preventing road collapse in Y City. The method proposed in this paper provides valuable practical experience and technical support for the detection of urban underground hidden dangers in related fields.
