Abstract: To improve the structural safety and service life of medical steam sterilizers, this study systematically analyzed the stress concentration effect and proposed geometric optimization and reinforcement measures for key weld positions of typical cross-section sterilizers. Through finite element simulation and fatigue life assessment of six types of key weld structures such as longitudinal, circumferential, supporting feet, and nozzle openings of the cylinder body, it was found that the weld seam between the observation window and the steam inlet opening has the highest stress concentration and fatigue risk, and other welds have sufficient safety margin. Research has shown that optimizing weld formation quality and structural transition design can effectively reduce the stress concentration factor, significantly improve the fatigue life and structural safety of the weld, and provide technical support for the safe and reliable operation of medical steam sterilizers.
