Determination of Phosphorus Content in Gutter Oil and Its Hydrogenation Products Using Inductively Coupled Plasma Optical Emission Spectrometry

Abstract: An analytical method for determination of phosphorus content in gutter oil and its hydrogenation products was established based on organic sample introduction-inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometry (ICP-OES). The analysis conditions were optimized as follows: PremiSolv diluent was selected, the detection wavelength for phosphorus was set at 213.618 nm with vertical observation mode, and quantification was performed using an internal standard calibration curve. The results demonstrated that the calibration curve exhibited good linearity with a correlation coefficient R2 greater than 0.99. The spike recovery rates for actual samples ranged from 94.7% to 110.7%, and the relative standard deviation of method repeatability tests was below 10%. The maximum relative deviation in repeatability measurements of actual samples did not exceed 9.57%.
