Cellulose Polysaccharide Drilling Fluid without Solid Phase in Shengli Oilfield

Abstract: The main factors causing reservoir damage in Shengli oilfield include solid-phase invasion, clay hydration, adsorption of dispersive treatment agents, and water blocking. Existing drilling fluids cannot fundamentally resolve these reservoir damage issues. Based on the multiple requirements of environmental protection, reservoir protection, and on-site drilling fluid performance, the cellulose polysaccharide product DACP-1 was synthesized in the laboratory. This product exhibits comprehensive performance, such as rheology modification and filtration reduction. Through system optimization and performance evaluation, an environmentally friendly, solids-free, reservoir-specific drilling fluid system was developed. This system does not contain solid-phase components, requires a low dosage of the main agent, is non-toxic and biodegradable. Compared with traditional solids-free drilling fluids, it offers lower cost, enhanced temperature and calcium resistance, and excellent collapse inhibition performance. Field applications have shown that the system not only achieves reservoir protection under solids-free conditions, but also addresses issues such as clay dispersion in upper formations and mudstone collapse in lower formations. Additionally, it significantly improves the rate of penetration compared to traditional systems and enhances cementing quality.
