Design of a cow health monitoring system based on Internet of Things

Abstract:Real-timemonitoringof dairycow health isof great significance tomodernanimal husbandry.An Internetof Things (IoT) based monitoring system fordairy cow health was designed toachieve automatic monitoring of dairy cow health.The system utilizes the ESP8266-NodeMCUas the main control module,with the DS18B2O andMPU6050 sensors to measure thecow'sbody temperatureand stepcount inreal-time.Thedata is uploadedtoa MySQLdatabase on theserverviaWi-Fi.Inadition,adatavisualizationandanalysisplatformfor intellgent pasture managementwas developed basedonthe Browser/Server(B/S)architecture.This platformrealizes remote monitoring of cow health and hasthefunctionofeffectivelyexploringtheintrinsicrelationshipbetweencowdiseasesandphysiologicalconditions.Test results show that the system operates well,with a detection accuracyof 97% for cow step count and a maximum temperature measurement deviation of only 0.2°C . The system is capable of automating the monitoring of dairy cow health and managing the analysis of pasture data,providing a solid foundation for the construction of intelligent pastures.
