A Subtle Exploration of the Confucian Orthodoxy in Shao Yong' s Thought of Guanwu (Observing Things)

Abstract:ShaoYong’sthoughtofGuanwuisconsistentfromnaturetohumanethics.FromthetextofGuanwuNeipian(ner ChapteronObseruingThings），itcanbeconcludedtatifonecannotunderstandtheDao（Way)，thecognitionfromGuanwuwillackuniver salty，andtusillotaveteprerqusiteforiticalpractieerefore，ShaoYongproedelegiiacyfoliticalpractfrom thepremiseofuiversalityThetransformationfromcosmologytotheShengwangZhiDao（Wayoftheage-King)startspreciselyfromthe “Dao”，soGuanwucanhavethecharacteristicofuniversalimplementation.ThroughthemethodofobservationShaoYongtook Haotian (theHeavenlySage）astheobjectofobservationandatainedtheSifu（TheFourPalaces）of teHaotian.Byobservingthegrowthexist ence,storagendocalentoftngsinsprng，sume，utuandint，hudestodecorspoinggrowheisctor age and concealment of the people. In this way，Guanwu connects the natural field and the political field.
