Several Issues Needing Attention in Cultivar Selection of Fresh-eating Apricots in Shanxi Province

Abstract:Shanxi Provincefeaturesatypical plateaulandform,withmostof tsterrtorycovered bymountainsand hils.It has atemperatecontinental monsoon climate,characterizedbydry winters and springs aswellasseverecoldin winter.Under suchnaturalconditions,mostfruit trees aredificult tocultivateonalargescale.Apricottrees,however,areamong the few fruittree speciesadaptableto theseconditions,thus becoming the most widelydistributedandlong-cultivatedfruit tres in Shanxi.Nevertheless,inmodern fruittreecultivation,thecultivationoffresheating apricots rarelyachieves higheconomic benefits.Theprimaryfactorrestrictingthehighbenefitsoffresh-eatingapricots isinappropriatecultivarselection.Inviewof this situation,Thekey points thatshouldbe noted incultivarselectionforfresh-eating apricot planting,mainlyincluding four aspects:selecting firm-fleshed cultivars,choosing those with good disease resistance,pickingcracking-resistantcultivars,and opting for late frost-resistant cultivars,are summarized in this paper to provide references for growers.

山西属于典型的高原地貌,境内大多为山地和丘陵,平地面积不足 20% ,海拔多在 1500~2000m 气候上属于温带大陆性季风气候,冬春干旱和冬季严寒是其主要的气候特征,平均降水量 400~ 600mm ,且多集中在7月一9月,冬季漫长,寒冷干燥,1月平均气温在- -10~3∘C ,极端低温达到零下一 30∘C 以下。(剩余1736字)
