Analysis of equipment failure modes and preventive maintenance strategies for Da Vinci surgical robots

AbstractObjective:Toanalyzethefailuremodes,patensandunderlyingcausesoftheDaVincisurgicalrobot,andtostablisha scientficandientprevetiveteanesategtomprovepenteliabilitysuresuricalsfetyndotroltio and maintenancecosts.Methods:Aretrospectiveanalysis wasconductedon62repairrecordsof theDa Vinci Sisurgical systemin theGeneralHospitalofEasteTeaterCommandfromJauary2022toDecember24Faluremode,efects,ndcritcalityalsis (FMECA)wasusedtoclasifydataincuding equpment model,failure modules,penomenaourencetiming,repairtie,and maintenancecostsforrootcauseanalyzing.Results:Amongthe1O7individualfilureeventsinthe6faultrepairrecords,hefailure rates of the robotic arm (38.32% ), imaging system (28.04% , and main console (18.69 % ) were the highest.Failures mostly occurred during surgery (45.79%) and during power-on self-check (32.71%) . When responsibility lay with the original equipment manufacturer (OEM), meanresponseie,diagnostictim,epairtie,andotaldowntimeweresignificantlyngerthantosehnresponsibiltylaywithte hospital ( P <0.05).Theroboticarm (completeset)hadthe highestsinglereplacementcost (180,OCNY)andtotalcost (540,0 CNY), whileEndoWistsurgicalinstrumentsshowedtehighestrepacementfrequency(29times).MECAshowedhatteghesiskpririty numbers(RPN)wereanipulatorjointoverload,stereosopiclenssufcecoamiatin,CCamraaging.Conclusio:Fusofa Vincisurgicalrobothassignificantregularityandmoduleoncentration.Developing argetedpreventivemaintenancestrategiscterdonperiodicdeepmaintenance,predictivereplacementofkeycmponentsbasedonlifespanprdiction,andstrengtenngitraopatie operational standards can reduce the frequency of high-RPN failures and ensure patient safety.
