Exploration of “AI + Corpus + Teachers" Collaborative Teaching Mode Empowering Medical Students ’English Writing

Abstract: Given that traditional approaches are inadequate for improving the English writing competence of medical students,this study integrates instant feedback from artificial inteligence (AI),objective verification from corpora,and comprehensive guidance from teachers to construct and implement the“AI + corpus + teachers”colaborative teaching mode (A-T-C mode). The study involved 72 medical students and employed acombination of text analysis,questionnaires (with 65 valid responses),and interviews to compare the differences between students’initial and final drafts in terms of language accuracyand logical improvement,while also exploring their perceptions and evaluations of the three types of fedback.Results showed that the model significantly enhanced grammatical accuracy,lexical appropriateness,and logical coherence in writing. Specifically, 96.93% of students acknowledged the effectiveness of AI-assisted polishing, 86.15% affirmed the value of corpora in terminology verification,and 98.46% emphasized the indispensability of teacher guidance. Students widely agreed that the tripartite collaboration simultaneously enhanced language proficiency and critical thinking,outperforming conventional instruction.The study demonstrates that the A-T-C mode effectively promotes English writing skils among medical students,offering a new pathway for reforming medical English writing instruction and exhibiting substantial potential for broader application.
