Exploration of Integrating Design Thinking in “Histology" Teaching forRehabilitation MedicineUndergraduates

Abstract: Objectirve To discuss the application effctiveness of design thinking in“Histology”teaching for freshmen majoring in Rehabilitation Medicine,and provide reference for enhancing students’innovative thinking and practical abilities while optimizing teaching quality.Methods The five-phase design thinking methodology,namely empathizing,defining,ideating,prototype,and testing,was integrated into the teaching design of“Histology”for freshmen students majoring in Rehabilitation Medicine in theclassof 2O22 and 2023.Through the practice of tiered teaching objectives and online and ofline blended intelligent teaching design and application,“Histology” teaching was given to freshmen majoring in Rehabilitation Medicine. Results The study completion rate of Zhihuishu (online platform) reached 94.9% in the 2022 cohort and 98.5% in the 2O23 cohort,indicating high learning completion.Students’attndance rates significantly improved from 90.3% (2022 cohort) to 98.5% (2023 cohort) ( P<0.001 ).Similarly,the average interaction intensity increased from 0.994(2022 cohort) to 1.093(2023 cohort) P<0.001 ),demonstrating enhanced student participation. Conclusion Integrating design thinking into“Histology”teaching for Rehabilitation Medicine freshmen students successfully cultivates a student-centered educational system and demonstrates significant innovative value, providing an effective pedagogical pathway for cultivating compound innovative Rehabilitation Medicine talents.
