Abstract：The purposeofthis studywastoexploretherelationship betweenurban-ruralincomeinequality and social trust，especiallythemediatingroleoffairness perceptioninthisrelationship.Thedataof the China Comprehensive Social Survey （CGSS）were used to analyze the relationship between urban and rural income differences，perceptionof fairnessand social trust by structural equation model （SEM）.Validate research hypotheses with detailed statistics and model-fitting metrics.The study found that urban-rural incomeinequalityhadasignificant negativeimpact onsocial trust，andtheperceptionoffairnessplayed an important mediatingrole between urban-rural income inequalityand social trust.Specifically，the greater theurban-ruralincomegap，thelowertheleveloftrustthatcitizens haveinsociety，andthedeclineinthe perceptionof fairness is akey factor connecting the two.The study emphasizes the importance of narrowing theincomegap between urbanandrural areasandimprovingtheperceptionofequity，and suggests that social trustand harmonious developmentcanbeenhancedthroughtheimplementationofvillageindustryrevitalization plans，the promotionof urban-rural resource sharing，the development of rural culture and handicraft industries，and the strengthening of theruleof law.Through these strategies，the perception of fairness canbe effectivelyenhanced，whichin turn strengthens social trust andlays the foundation for achieving common prosperityand social stability.
