Abstract:WiththeaccelerationofChina’saging process,thecontradictionbetween the travelneedsoftheelderlyandthe existing supplyof transportationmeans has become increasingly prominent.Asashort-distance meansof transportation, electricbicyclesarewidelyfavoredbytheelderlybecauseoftheirfexibilityandeconomybuttheirdesignstandardsand managementspecificationsarenotadaptable tothephysiologicalcharacteristicsandsafetyneedsoftheelderlywhichhas becomeakey problemrestricting theirconvenienceand safety.BasedonGB17761-2024,this paper analyzes the curent situatioandneedsoftheelderlytouseelectricbicycles,discusssthenecesityofelectricbicyclesfortheelderlyand proposesoptimizationstrategies frommultiple dimensionssuch as productdesignandsafetyeducation,inorderto provide areference for the developmentof electric bicycles for theelderlyand meetthe needs oftheelderlyfortheir safe and convenient travel.
