Abstract：WiththeaccelerationofChina’saging process，thecontradictionbetween the travelneedsoftheelderlyandthe existing supplyof transportationmeans has become increasingly prominent.Asashort-distance meansof transportation， electricbicyclesarewidelyfavoredbytheelderlybecauseoftheirfexibilityandeconomybuttheirdesignstandardsand managementspecificationsarenotadaptable tothephysiologicalcharacteristicsandsafetyneedsoftheelderlywhichhas becomeakey problemrestricting theirconvenienceand safety.BasedonGB17761-2024，this paper analyzes the curent situatioandneedsoftheelderlytouseelectricbicycles，discusssthenecesityofelectricbicyclesfortheelderlyand proposesoptimizationstrategies frommultiple dimensionssuch as productdesignandsafetyeducation，inorderto provide areference for the developmentof electric bicycles for theelderlyand meetthe needs oftheelderlyfortheir safe and convenient travel.
