Application of Nursing Intervention Based on Positive Reinforcement Theory in Patients with Diabetes Mellitus and Total Hip Replacement

CHENQiaojuan,CAI Lixia,HUANGeijuan,CHENLinlin, Department ofOrthopedics,Fuzhou SecondGeneral Hospital,Fuzhou35ooO7,Fujian,China [Abstract] Objective To explore the impact of nursing intervention based on positive reinforcement theory on the clinical outcomes of patients with diabetes melitus and undergoing total hip replacement surgery. Methods A total of 70 patientswith diabetesmelitusand total hipreplacement admited totheFuzhou SecondGeneral Hospital from January 2023 to June2O24 were convenientlyselectedand divided into two groups according to diferent nursing methods. The control group (n=35) was given routine nursing, while the observation group ( n =35)was given nursing based on positive reinforcement theory in addition to routine nursing. The changes of glucose metabolism index, pain score, hip joint function before and after nursing were compared between the two groups. Results After nursing, the glucose metabolism indexes (fasting plasma glucose and 2-hour postprandial plasma glucose)in the observation group were lower than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant (all P <0.05). After nursing, the scores of hip joint function inthe observation group was higher than that before nursing, and higher thanthat in thecontrol group, andthepainscore waslowerthan thatinthecontrol group, thediferences were statisticallsignificant (all P<0.05 ).Conclusion After applying the nursing intervention model based on positive reinforcement theory to patients with diabetes melitusand undergoing total hipreplacement, their blood glucose indicatorsandpain were improved, and their hip joint function was enhanced.
