The Value of the ERAS Concept in Perioperative Nursing for Patients with Gastric Cancerand Type2Diabetes

[Abstract] Objective To analyze the efect of applying enhanced recovery after surgery （ERAS）in theperioperative periodof patients with gastric cancer complicated with type 2 diabetes.Methods A total of 12O patients with gastric cancerand type2diabetes from QuanzhouFirst Hospital from January to November 2O24 wereconvenientlyselected. All patients underwent laparoscopicradical gastrectomy.The patients were divided into thecontrol groupand theobservation group，with 6O cases ineach group.Thecontrol group received routine perioperativecare，whiletheobservation groupreceivedERAScare.Theblood glucose levels，qualityoflife，andnutritional status of two groupswerecompared.Results The blood glucose levels of both groups before surgery andon the dayof discharge were lower than those immediatelyafteradmission，the bloodglucose levels oftheobservation groupbefore surgeryand onthe dayof discharge were lower than those of the control group，and the diffrences were statistically significant （all P <0.05）. The nutritional status scoreof the observation groupwas （7.59±1.43）points，which waslowerthan thatof the control group （10.48±1.55） points，and the difference was statistically significant （ t =10.615， P<0.05 ）.After intervention，the scores of qualityof ifeintheobservation group was lowerthan thatinthecontrol group，andthe diferenes were statistically significant （all P <0.05）. Conclusion The ERAS nursing model can further improve the quality of life of patients with gastriccancer and type2diabetes and lowerblood glucoselevels，and effectivelyregulate thenutritionalstatus of the body.
