[Abstract]Objective To investigate the impact of applying empathy nursing inthecareof elderlypatients with diabeticischemicstrokeontheirtreatmentoutcomes.MethodsAtotalof125elderlydiabeticpatientswithischemic stroke whoreceivedtreatmentattheXiamen UniversityAffiiatedFirst Hospital XinglinBranchfrom January toDecember 2024 were non-random conveniently selectedand divided into an observation group （64 cases）and a control group（6lcases）based on diferent nursing methods.The control group received routine care，while the observation group received empathy nursing inaddition totheroutinecare.Thepsychological state，blood glucose levels，and incidence of complications before and after nursing were compared between the two groups.Results After nursing，theobservation group's Symptom Checklist9O score was beterthan thatof the control group，the difference was statistically significant （ P <0.05）.After nursing，the observation group's random blood glucose levels and glycated hemoglobin A1c were lower than those of the control group，the differences were statistically significant （all P <0.05）. The incidence.of complications in the observation group waslower thanthat in thecontrol group，the diferencewas statisticallsignificant（ P<0.05 ）.Conclusion Applying empathetic nursing interventions in the careof elderly diabetic patients with ischemicstrokecanhelp improve their negativemoods，regulatetheir blood glucose levels，reduce theriskof adverse reactions，and further aid in their recovery.
