Analysis of forest farmers’participation behavior in agricultural socialized services and its influencing factors

AbstractTo explore the participation behavior of forest farmers in agricultural socialized servicesand its influencing factors,this paperadoptedthe binaryLogisticregresionanalysis method toconductan empirical studyfrom 4aspects,namelyinformationacquisitionabilityenvironmental stress,personal factorsandfamilyfactors,basedonhe survey data of 417 forest farmer households in 5 economic forestplanting counties of Shanxi Province.The results showed that 61.39% of the forest farmers in the survey sample participated in agricultural socialized services.In terms of informationacquisitioncapacity,having villagecadres inthefamilyand joiningacooperative both exertedasignificant positive impact on participation behavior at the 1% statistical level,while the distance to service outlets had no significant efect.Intermsofenvironmentalstress,exposure tonaturaldisasters exertedasignificantnegativeimpacton participation behavior at the 1% statistical level, whereas the terrain of cultivated land had no significant influence. among personal factors,the age of the household head (at the 10% level), education level (at the 1% level) and health status (at the 5% level) had significant impacts on the participation behavior,while other control variables had no significant efects.Based onthese findings,this paper put forward relevant suggestions from 3aspects,strengthening servicepublicityand promotion,giving playtotheroleof grass-rotsorganizations,andstimulating the vitalityofforest farmers,so as to provide a reference for socialized service organizations to optimize their supply.
