Cultivation technology of dense planting and drip irrigation with integrated water and fertilizer for summer maize in Northern Anhui Province

AbstractThis paper summarized the high yield cultivation technology for summer maize using dense planting and dripirrigationwith integratedwaterand fertilizer managementinNorthernAnhuiProvince.Beforesowing,maize varieties suitable for dense planting,such as Annong 218,are selected.Fine land preparation is caried out,and straw returning is implemented to enhance soil fertility.Precisionsowingisperformed before June 25using anavigationequipped seeder tocomplete direct seeding,fertilization,and driptape laying ina single operation.Base fertilizer is appliedthrough layered deepplacement of maize-specificcompound fertilizerat40-45 kg/667m,ccompaniedbythe installtionofaprecisedripirigation system.Field managementemphasizesaccurateregulationof waterandfertilizer, with stageddrip irigationand topdressing acording togrowth stages.Chemicalcontroltopreventlodging isappliedat the 6-8 leaf stage.Pestand disease control follows aprevention-first approach,and pesticides should beapplied during the seedling stage,bell mouth stage,and tasseling and flowering stage to prevent rust,maize borer. Harvesting is conducted when the grain milk line disappears and moisture content falls below 28% ,usinghigh-performance combine harvesters.Post-harvest operations include grain drying,drip taperecycling,and straw returning.This technology system ntegrates superiorvarieties,dense planting,precise water and fertilizer management,and full mechanization to achieve high yield, efficiency,and green sustainable production in summer maize cultivation.
