Abstract： Inliterary writing，colour haslong beentreatedasasubsidiarycomponentvisualrepresentation，withitsontological significanceconsistentlymarginaliedTakingthcolourdiscourseinCanXue'sfctionsastartingpoint，thispapersysteatialy examines theshiftincolourtheory fromessntialistapproachestophenomenologicalandlanguage-gameparadigms，drawingon theoreticalperspectivesfromarthstoryphenomenologyandtheplosophylanguage.Troughanaalysisolourtories advancedbyuressucsoadodViciotheHuerl，erea-Ptydienstein，spperrgustaloa nolongerbeuderstoodasapassiverepresentationbjectiveptics.Rather，itfunctionsasa“phenomenologicalfoldinwich subjectand worldare mutuallonstituted，andfurther，asaitewherepowerdisciplines meaningandmeaning，intunevades suchdiscipline within language games.The fantasticalcolour imagery in Can Xue's novels exemplifiesthis paradigmatichift reconfiguringthe ontological standing colour inliterature throughsensory transgression and grammatical deviation.
