Abstract： WuLiwasoneofthe"Six Mastersofthe Qing Dynasty."Throughout hiscarerin Chinese painting，he focusedonthe use ofcolorinhis early works，althougharthistorypaysmoreatentiontohis inklandscapesfromhis middle yearsonward.The extantcolorworksare mostlygren-and-bluelandscapes，lightredlandscapes，andfigurepaintings.Heinheritedthetraditionsof theSouthernSchoolgreen-and-bluetechniquefromWangJianandWangShimin，aswellasthelightlycoloredliteratipanting style.Colorandinkareharmoniouslyblended，andcolorisappliedalongsidebrushwork.Byusinglightinkincombinationwith othercolors，he madethecolorsinhispaintings more prominent.Byinfusig hispersonalemotions intotheartwork，hegavethe colors emotional warmthandsymbolic meaning.Thecompositionsare harmonious，ink andcolorareintegrated，establishinga distinctive style.
