Dynamics of waterfowl community in Chenhu Wetland Nature Reserve in Wuhan City from 2005 to 2021

Abstract:Basedonlong-termfixed-pontobservationdata,thelong-termdynamicsof thewaterbirdcommunitysincetheestablishmentoftheChenhu WetlandNatureReservewereanalyzed.ItwasfoundthathenumberofspeciesandindividualsintheChenhuwetlandwaterbirdcommunityincreasedsignificantlyfrom2O05to2O21,withafluctuatingincreaseinspeciesdiversityidices.Winter migratorybirdsconstitutedthemajorityofthecommunity,withwaderspredominatingintermsofspeciescountandswimmingbirds in termsofindividalcount.Thespeciescountofomnivorouswaterbirdswasdominant,andthecompositionofindividualcounthadshiftedfromhavingnocleardominanttypetoapredominanceofherbivores.TheAnseriformesandCharadriformeswerethedominatordersinthewaterbirdcommunity.Thenumberofdominantspecies inthewaterbirdcommunitygraduallydecreasedafter2015.The waterbirdcommunityunderwenttwostages:aperiodofsignificantchanges inspeciescompositionandaperiodofminorchanges in speciescomposition.Endangeredandrare waterbirdspecieswereobservedannuallinChenhu Wetlandfrom2005to2O21.After 2017,thenumberofendangeredandrarewaterbirdspeciesbegantosteadilyincrease,anduniquewaterbirdspecieswereobserved annually after 2018.
