Physicochemicalcharacterization of nano-seleniumsynthesized by Bacillus and its application in selenium-enriched tomato cultivation

Abstract:ASNPs-synthesizingBacteriumMC-3wasisolatedfromserenium-richsoilandidentifiedthroughmorphologicalobservationandl6SrDNAsequencinganalysis.ThephysicochemicalcharacteristicsofSeNPssynthesizedbystrainMC-3wereanalzedby scaningelectronmicrosope(SE),nergydispersivespecrometer(EDS),X-raydiracti(XRD),ndFouriertransfofrard spectroscopy(FTIR),and SeNPswereappliedtothecultivationexperimentofselenium-enrichedtomatoes.Theresultsshowedthat strainMC-3wasBacilluscereus.TheSeNPsfromreductionofN a2Se03 by B .cereusMC-3 presented both crystalline andamorphous selenium nanoparticles,withadiameterrangeofO0~30Onm,andtheirmoleculecontainelementssuchasC,O,andSe,aswell as functional groups such as-OH,C=O,and C-O,which were relatedto the stabilityof SeNPs.The SeNPs synthesized by B .cereus MC-3 wereusedas foliarfertilizerinthecultivationof selenium-enriched tomatoes.Whentheconcentrationof SeNPs was 70mg/L , theselenium content in tomato fruits could reach 0.090mg/kg FW.Meanwhile,the contents of solubleprotein and vitaminCinthe fruits were 41.25% and 35.00% higher than those in the control group,respectively. In conclusion,the appropriate concentration of SeNPscouldbesprayedasfoliarfertilizerforselenium-enrichedtomatocultivation,andcouldimprovethequalityoftomatofruit.
