Research and analysis on the development potential of the aquaculture industry in Liaocheng City

Abstract：As an important agricultural production area in Shandong Province，Liaocheng City holds a significant position for its aquaculture industry within the local economy. To assess the development potential of the aquaculture industry in Liaocheng City，this study analyzes industry data from 2016 to 2024，reviews the current status and trends of industrial development，and examines its inherent strengths and constraints. The research finds that the aquaculture industry in Liaocheng has demonstrated a developmental trend characterized by“reduced cultivation area，increased output，and enhanced profitability”. However，it still faces challenges such as outdated infrastructure， significant environmental pressures，a short industrial chain，and insuficient scientific and technological support. In response，this paper proposes several industrial development strategies，including promoting the modernization of aquaculture facilities and models， improving environmental and quality safety control systems，extending the industrial chain while strengthening brand development，and enhancing scientific innovation along with talent support systems. The aim is to provide references for unleashing the industrial potential of Liaocheng's aquaculture sector and achieving high一quality，sustainable development.
