Design and testing of a rotating rake-type intertidal shellfish harvesting equipment

Abstract:Addressing the current lag in the technology of intertidal shelfish harvesting equipment in China,a rotary harrow-type intertidal shelfish harvesting device was designed. Through a kinematic analysis of the operation process of the rotary harrow component, the structural and operational parameters of the main components were determined. To verify the reliability and performance of the harvesting equipment,a three-factor,three-level response surface experiment based on the Box一 Behnken design was conducted. The spacing between harrow teth, shaft rotation speed,and soil penetration depth were selected as experimental factors,while shelfish harvesting rate and device digging resistance served as evaluation indicators. Analysis of variance (ANOVA) and response surface analysis were performed using Design-Expert software to clarify the influence of the experimental factors and their interactions on the equipment's performance. Multi一objective optimization of the established linear regression model revealed that the optimal shelfish harvesting eficiency was achieved with a harrow tooth spacing of 21.78mm ,a shaft rotation speed of 69.84rpm ,and a soil penetration depth of 128mm . Field validation tests conducted with the optimized parameters demonstrated an average shellfish harvesting rate of 80.04% ,meeting the operational requirements for intertidal shellfish harvesting.
