International Experience and Insights into Vegetable Microbiological Safety Management in Retail and Distribution of Food Supply Chain

Abstract
In the post-pandemic era,the growing public health awareness has driven sustained growth in fresh vegetableconsumption.However,microbial risk-related health issuesandspoilageremain pressing concerns. At present,China has deficiencies in microbial control during theretailand distribution stages,grappling with issues suchas diverse retail models,inadequatecold chain management,and outdated regulations and technologies.Thispaper focusesonthemicrobial risk controlforvegetables inthe downstreamsegmentof thefoodsupply chain.Bysystematicaly reviewingadvanced control practices from the United States,the European Union,and Japan,it proposesdeveloping precise riskassessmentandearlywarning technologies to strengthen retail stage microbiologicalsafety managementand explores the innovativeapplicationof technologiessuchasthe Internetof Things(loT)andblockchaintopromote theinteligentizationofcold chain management.Theresearch provides new insightsandtheoretical supportfor China’s freshvegetable microbial control,facilitating high-qualitydevelopment of the food supply chain.
