Effects of biodegradable film mulching on maize growth,photosynthetic characteristic,andyield

AbstractTo explore theefectofbiodegradablefilmonmaizegrowth,this experiment was conducted from June to October 2024 at afarm in Yangqu County,Shanxi Province.The maize variety Nongkeyu 368 was usedas the material, and3 treatments were setup:no filmcovering(NM),ordinaryfilmcovering(OM),and biodegradable filmcoverng (BM). The growth,photosynthesis,and yield performance of maize under different film covering were comparedand analyzed. Theresults showed that compared withOM,BMtreatment increased maize plant height,stem thickness,leafarea,and single plant dry matter mass by 0.95% , 2.60% , 3.12% ,and 6.77% ,respectively. In terms of photosynthesis,compared with OM,BM treatment significantly increased thenet photosyntheticrate,stomatal conductance,and transpiration rate of maize ear position leaves during the silk emergence stage ( P 2 concentration ( P
