Research on the Influencing Factors of Cost Overrun in EPC Projects for Renovation of Existing Buildings

Abstract：Identifying the keyinfluencing factors ofcost overun isof greatsignificance forthecost control of EPC projects for existing building renovation.Theexpert interview method wasadopted to initially identify22 influencing factors of cost overrun in such EPC projects；the DEMATEL-ISM model was constructed to analyze the relationships among these 22 factors and identify four key influencing factors：completion status of the preliminary design，the lumpsum contract mode，the clarityof the design specification stipulated inthe bidding documents，and theclarity of the pricingbasis.This study provides reasonable suggestions forthe managementof cost overrun inEPC projects for existing building renovation.
