Public Opinion on Construction Disturbance in Urban Public Projects ： Evidence from Weibo Data

Abstract：With the continuous advancement of urban renewal in China，the problem of disturbance caused by public construction projects has become increasinglyprominent and gradually evolved into a social risk that requires urgent attention.To explore the publicopinion characteristics of this isseon social media，this studycollcted 15 595 Weibo posts spaning from July 2O24 to July 2025，and conducteda multi-dimensional analysis from theperspectivesof heat variation，sentiment tendency，topic evolution anduser behavior by adopting natural language processngand statistical modeling methods.The results show that the public opinion of construction-induced disturbance presents obvious seasonal peaks，with a particularlyhighconcentration in summer，and thedominant efectof negativeemotions is prominent.Influentialusers withdiferentlevelsofimpactexhbitsignificant differences inemotionalexpression，topic focus andgeographicalorientation.Influenceand emotional intensity jointlydrive information dissemination，formingadualengine dissemination mechanism. Based onthese findings，this research proposes atrinity governance strategyof “precisionidentification，diffrentiatedcommunicationand sourcecontrol”，which provides areference forurban construction projects to improve their capabilities of public communication and risk response.
