Value Formation Mechanism of Digital Platforms for Water Conservancy Infrastructure Megaprojects： A Modular Perspective from the Yangfanggou Hydropower Station

Abstract：The intellgent construction of water conservancy infrastructure megaprojects relies on digital platforms to integrate heterogeneous resources，therebyenabling thecreation of multiple forms of value.Although existing studies have identified universality，compatibility，and scalabilityas keyatributesunderpinning platform-basedvalue formation，the specificvalue propositions thatcan berealized in digital platforms for water conservancyinfrastructure megaprojects remain insuficiently understood.Moreover，the platform characteristics through which these atributes areoperationalized warrant further investigation.Adopting a modular perspective，this study conducts an in-depth case analysisof theYangfanggou Hydropower Station to examine howmodular design facilitates the formationof diferenttypesof value in digitalplatforms forwaterconservancy infrastructure megaprojects.Thefindings reveal thatthevaluepropositions of such platforms can becategorized into constitutive value，generative value，and emergent value.These value propositions are supported by pronounced modular characteristics manifested across the knowledge，process，organizational，and servicedimensions.Byelucidatingthe value formation mechanismof digital platforms in water conservancy infrastructure megaprojects，this studycontributes toa deper theoretical understandingof platform-based value creationandoffers practical insights for thedevelopmentandvaluerealizationof digital platforms in other typesof infrastructure megaprojects.
