Test Cases of Modified Yunu Decoction（玉女煎）in Treatment of Head and Facial Dermatosis of Yangming Heat Exuberance Type

AbstractThere are numerous types of skin diseases on the head and face.From the perspective of traditional Chinese medicine’s physiological characteristics，the head and face are the convergence points ofall yang qi，and the Yangming meridian iswidely distributed.The vitality of the face depends on theprosperityand decline of theqi andblood intheyang meridians，especiallythe Yangming meridian. Excessive heat in the Yangming meridian is acommon traditional Chinese medicine（TCM）syndrome type of head andfacial skin diseases，anditis essentially consistent with excessiveheat in the lung and stomach. Yunu Decoction（玉女煎）can clear excessive heat in the Yangming meridian and nourish the deficiency of water in the Shaoyin meridian.After clinical modification，it canbe applied tothe treatment of head and facial skin diseases.Thisarticle presents three test cases of Modified Yunu Decoction in the treatment of headandfacial skin diseases，including acne，facial contact dermatitis，and rosacea.During the clinical diagnosis and treatment process，the main approach is toclear excessive heat inthe Yangming meridian， while also taking into account nourishing yin，promoting blood circulation，eliminating dampness，and clearing theliver，which achievesremarkable therapeuticeffects.
