Abstract: Emergence delirium (ED) in pediatric patients undergoing general anesthesia is a state of confusion and behavioral abnormality during the recovery period from general anesthesia, which prolongs the length of hospital stay, negatively affects neurocognitive development, and causes distress to both children and their families. In recent years, studies have been conducted to explore the predictive factors for ED. Implementing targeted preventive measures based on these predictive factors can improve the efficiency and quality of work of the medical team, reduce adverse postoperative experiences and psychological trauma in pediatric patients undergoing general anesthesia, enhance the quality of postoperative recovery and daily living, effectively reduce the risk of ED, and ensure patient safety. Based on this, this article analyzes the existing research on ED in pediatric patients undergoing general anesthesia, explores the advantages related to its predictive factors and preventive measures, aiming to provide new insights for future clinical protocols for postoperative prevention and management.
