Abstract: Objective To analyze the current status and hotspots of aneurysmal bone cyst research from 2013 to 2023 using bibliometric methods. Methods The data were obtained from the Web of Science Core Collection, and the bibliometric method was used in combination with the visualization function of the CiteSpace software to analyze the number of publications, keywords, countries, institutions, authors, and journals related to aneurysmal bone cyst research from 2013 to 2023. Results A total of 898 articles were included, and the overall number of publications in this field exhibited an increasing trend. Among the journals involved, CLIN ORTHOP RELAT R had the highest co-citation frequency. Only a very small number of authors contributed a high volume of publications, whereas the majority of authors published few articles and exerted limited academic influence. The institution with the highest publication output was RLUK – Research Libraries UK. The research directions involved included giant cell tumor, children, fibrous dysplasia, mobile spine, cervical spine and USP6. Conclusion Overall, the research on aneurysmal bone cysts has shown an upward trend, but the development of aneurysmal bone cyst research has slowed down in recent years. The pathogenesis of aneurysmal bone cysts and more effective treatment methods are hotspots in the research on aneurysmal bone cyst.
