Exploring the Connotation of Yin and Yang in the Six Meridians from the Huangdi Neijing

Abstract：ToexploretheconnotationofYinandYanginthesix meridiansbasedontheHuangdi Nejing，resolvethedebateon theamoutofYinandthesixmeridians，promotetheinheritanceofbasictheoriesofTraditionalChineseMedicine，andbetrguide clinicalpractice.ThroughstudyingtheHuangdiNijing，theprocessoftheformationofYinandYanginthesixmerdianswasbriefly described，andthespecificconnotationandquantitativerelationshipbetwnYinandYanginthesix meridians，especiallytheYangming meridianandtheJueyinmeridian，wereanalyzed.TheformationofYinandYang inthesixmeridians wentthroughthedevelopmentprocessoftwoYinandtwoYang，threeYinandtwoYang，andthreeYinandthreeYang.TheYangQioftheTaiyang meridian is moreabundantthanthatoftheShaoyangmeridian.TheYangming meridianischaracterizedby“thecombinationofthetwoYang meridians”，“themotherofthetwelve meridians”，“theseaof thefiveZangandthesixFu”，“bloodabundanceandQiabundance”，and “theexcessveofblodandQi”，so，theYangQiisabovethatofTaiyangmeridianandShaoyang meridian.TheYinQioftheTaiyin meridianismorethanthatoftheShaoyimeridian.TheJueyinmeridianischaracterizedby“thecombinationofthetwoYinmeridians”，“the closureofthethreeYinmeridians”，“thepeakofYin”，“thenoYangofYin”，“excessveblodandisuffcientQi”，so， TheYinQiisabovethatofTaiyinmeridianandShaoyinmeridian.AmongtheYinandYanginthesix meridians，theYangmingmeridianhasthehighestYangQi，folowedbytheTaiyang meridian，ndtheShaoyang meridianhastheleast;theJueyinmeridianhasthe highest Yin Qi，the Taiyin meridian takes the second place，and the Shaoyin meridian has the least.
