Research on the present situation and countermeasures of Polygonatum sibiricum industry in Jixi County

Abstract Based on the development status of Polygonatum sibiricum industry in Jixi County, Xuancheng City, Anhui Province, this paper summarized the links to be further improved, and put forward targeted countermeasures. The local wild resources are mainly dominated by Polygonatum cyrtonema; promote the enterprise+cooperative+farmer model in the industry; key support will be given to standardized planting, agroforestry, and germplasm resource conservation. At present, the Polygonatum sibiricum industry in the research area needs further improvement in planting management, germplasm resources, processing level, and other aspects. Based on this, the following measures are proposed: standardized planting techniques and integrating adaptive facilities to enhance the industry's resilience; establish a collaborative mechanism for germplasm resource protection and breeding of superior varieties, and establish a scientific evaluation system; focus on enhancing deep processing capabilities, developing functional products with medicinal and edible properties, and expanding emerging application areas; build regional public brands and implementing a dual drive strategy of geographical indications and cultural IP; build an ecological management and protection system to ensure the sustainable use of resources; innovate the allocation of production factors and establish a financial insurance linkage support system. This article provides a reference for the high quality and sustainable development of the regional Polygonatum sibiricum industry.
